Event: 2010 TAB/SHRM Employment Relations Symposium

The Texas Association of Business and the Society for Human Resource Management Texas State Council (SHRM-TSC) partnership brings you the highest quality human resource training.

Attendees of the Annual Symposium receive cutting-edge labor law changes and trends that are critical to every human resource manager and business owner.

Not only will you receive legal counseling from the top attorneys in the state, you will get practical information from human resource management professionals who apply the rules and regulations to their business environment every day.

The symposium is preceded with a welcome reception Wednesday night, where attendees will have the option of pre-registering before activities begin on Thursday morning. A Thursday luncheon, as well as continental breakfast and snack breaks on both Thursday and Friday are included with each registration.

Welcome to San Antonio’s Paseo del Rio, a pedestrian river walk of hidden gardens, shops and sidewalk cafés one story below downtown! Shaded by cypress and palm trees, The Westin Riverwalk graces this famous thoroughfare and celebrates the beauty and heritage of Texas’s oldest city.

Expect a warm welcome at The Westin Riverwalk, San Antonio, where guests are greeted with delicious dark chocolate imported from Venezuela. A beautiful, copper platter greets you at check-in, filled with El Rey Latin American specialty chocolates. You may also retreat to a Latin American escape: "La Merienda", Latin version of High Tea, is available Tuesday through Saturday. Cinnamon-tinged roasted Mexican coffees, hot Cocoas, aguas frescas, and hojorascas (Mexican cookies) are served from 3:30pm to 5:30pm in the hotel lobby. A Spanish classical guitarist plays Latin American ballads every Friday and Saturday.

Attire for the symposium is casual or business casual. However, we do recommend bringing a sweater or jacket in case the meeting room becomes cold during the presentations.

In years past the program has been approved for 9 hours of continuing education for attorneys and 9 hours of CPA continuing education. Up to 8.5 credit hours of continuing education credit for human resource professionals may be available.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Texas business owners, Human Resource professionals, Attorneys and Accountants, who want to be informed onthe latest Employment laws and regulations. Professional credits will be available for accountants and HR Professionals. See below for credits.
