Job: Manager Compensation

Recommends changes to executive management to ensure the maintenance of the organization's compensation objectives and competitive position in the marketplace. Analyzes company compensation policies in relation to government wage and hour regulations, prevailing rates for similar jobs in comparable industries or geographic areas, agreements with labor unions, and recommends changes as appropriate to establish and maintain competitive rates. Plans, administers, and designs incentive programs within the guidelines of established policies. Recommends special compensation programs or incentive systems for all employees or for specific groups to support the organization's objectives. Responsible for advising senior management on executive compensation pay practices and long-term incentive plans. Manages the participation in executive wage and salary surveys. Directs the planning, administration and implementation of job evaluation and wage and salary management programs for the organization. Analyzes organizational pay practices and makes recommendations for salary changes to ensure equity.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university or equivalent related experience. A minimum of ten years compensation experience. Three years supervisory experience required. Union experience preferred. Basic knowledge of the compensation function, job analysis and documentation, various methods of job evaluation, and the regulatory requirements of a compensation program required. Experience with short term (variable pay) and long term (equity based) incentive plans required. Executive compensation work experience required. Proficiency with PC spreadsheets and databases required. Must have the ability to prepare and analyze statistical reports. Excellent oral and written communication skills essential to interact with internal and external contacts. Must be able to work extended hours as business needs dictate.
