POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Imaging Manager, the Medical Records Representative, Imaging is responsible for a number of clerical functions of that office. Each of these functions maintains and distributes confidential health information, and follows strict confidential guidelines by discussing health information only in appropriate circumstances. Ensures health information is provided in a complete and timely manner, and contributes to the overall success of the Health Information Services Department. Complies with all Federal and State regulations and accrediting bodies including but not limited to HIPPA, Joint Commission, and State, and promotes the University Health System guest relations policy

Skills / Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of some health information management courses, including medical terminology, computer technology, and business-related courses is preferred. Six months of general office experience is required. One year of experience in a Health Information Department may be substituted for general office experience. Experience in a large health care facility is preferred.
