Job Summary
Under administrative direction, is responsible for performing professional level work administering environmental protection programs impacting stormwater, clean air, hazardous waste, soil management, environmental assessments, underground storage tanks, remediation and other environmental protection programs as directed by the Airport's Environmental Services Stewardship Manager. Exercises functional supervision over professional and technical staff.
Essential Job Functions
* Administers environmental protection and compliance programs and related activities, including Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP or SWP3), and Soil Management Plan;
* Makes recommendations after reviewing and interpreting environmental laws, policies and regulations mandated by Federal, State, and Local governmental entities;
* Prepares and signs reports as required by Federal, State and Local agencies;
* Identifies and resolves critical environmental issues;
* Administers programs related to hazardous, industrial and municipal wastes;
* Establishes procedures and guidelines for the surface water, stormwater, and soil management programs;
* Reviews reports submitted by departments to insure compliance with environmental protection laws;
* Serves as technical advisor on subjects related to environmental protection;
* Supervises staff responsible for the environmental protection program monitoring and sampling activities in an airport setting;
* Reviews geological, environmental, and other reports provided to the City or by other departments;
* Manages projects;
* Drafts policies and protocols;
* Performs related duties and fulfills other responsibilities as required.

Job/Driving Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with preferable coursework in Environmental Science, Geology, Chemistry, Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a related field;
* Three years of experience administering or monitoring environmental protection programs;
* This position requires a valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License or obtain a valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License within thirty (30) days after becoming a resident of the State of Texas;
* Use of your own personal vehicle may at times be required and proof of liability insurance will be required;
* Substitution Ratio: Two years of related experience may be substituted for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience;
