Job Summary
Under immediate supervision, is responsible for performing skilled work operating light to heavy equipment used to excavate, load, transfer, or move dirt, gravel, or other material in the maintenance or construction of parks, streets, and other public properties. May exercise functional supervision over Maintenance Workers.
Essential Job Functions
* Responsible for operating medium to heavy equipment to include loaders, large tractor/mowers, fuel truck, dump truck, and other equipment needed to maintain Stinson Municipal Airport airfield Construction, repairs and maintenance of airport property and equipment;
* Mows and maintains airport grounds vegetated areas includes pruning, weed control and planting, fence line and around adjacent buildings;
* Maintains perimeter fence, repair airfield lighting, infrastructure and maintain all airport buildings and surfaces;
* Performs preventative and basic repairs to heavy equipment and log repairs;
* Responsible for coordinating and recording vehicles needing service;
* Develops quarterly reporting system that tracts PMs (Preventive Maintenance) on vehicles;
* Conducts airfield inspections when needed or assigned Repairs cracks and other damages to airfield and landside;
* Repair airport fencing, lighting, signage and major maintenance such as carpentry, plumbing and painting;
* Must keep work areas clean and in good repair and maintain documentation;
* Develops and maintains a working inventory of assigned equipment and tools;
* Reports any lost or damaged tools to supervisor and prepare a list for replacement or needed tools;
* Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
