Job Summary
Under immediate supervision, is responsible for collecting parking fees from customers and monitoring the parking facility. May exercise functional supervision.
Essential Job Functions
* Collects parking fee from customers;
* Receives and verifies correct change fund;
* Operates an electronic cash register or time clock to compute parking fee or computes fee manually;
* Monitors assigned parking lot and informs management of any unusual situations or incidents;
* Monitors security cameras; operates two-way communication radio;
* Provides customers with directions and information as needed;
* Cleans and maintains booth area;
* Handles customer complaints and accidents;
* Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Job/Driving Requirements
* Graduation from high school or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate;
* This position requires a valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License or obtain a valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License within thirty (30) days after becoming a resident of the State of Texas;
* Use of your own personal vehicle may at times be required and proof of liability insurance will be required;
*Substitution Ratio: Two years of related experience may be substituted for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience;
* Any applicant selected for this position must have a background check completed with results satisfactory to the City of San Antonio and successfully complete the City of San Antonio's two-phased Cash-Handling Certification Training;
* ANY APPLICANT SELECTED FOR EMPLOYMENT WITH THE CITY OF SAN ANTONIO MUST RECEIVE SATISFACTORY RESULTS FROM PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TESTING, REFERENCES, BACKGROUND CHECKS AND CREDENTIAL VERIFICATION. ADDITIONALLY, EMPLOYEES IN SENSITIVE OR HIGH RISK POSITIONS ARE SUBJECT TO INTERVAL CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH TITLE 49 CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS, EMPLOYEES IN CDL POSITIONS ARE SUBJECT TO RANDOM DRUG TESTING.

* Cashier or cash handling experience is highly desirable;
* Public contact experience.
