POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, implements and manages the clinical risk management program designed to enhance the quality of patient care, reduce injuries, minimize claims and identify opportunities for improvement in the clinical setting. Plans daily department operations, maintains appropriate staffing, training and supervision. Plans and implements departmental budget and program activities. Responsible at the Administrative level for clinical risk management functions within University Health System.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school is required, as well as an advanced degree (Master's level or beyond) in an appropriate related field of study. Five years experience in health care risk management is required, as well as extensive experience and knowledge related to regulatory and statutory entities impacting general acute care facilities. A minimum of 3 years clinical experience, or its equivalent, in a general acute facility is highly recommended.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Licensure as a registered nurse is preferred. Certification by the American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers, or the equivalent, is required.
