PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Development Manager assists the Director of Business Development in implementing comprehensive market and customer expansion strategies to achieve the financial and mission growth goals of Goodwill Industries of San Antonio and Goodwill Industries of San Antonio Contract Services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Assist in new market development (federal, state, local government, and commercial sector) for Goodwill current business solutions including those in the medical industry, electronics recycling, landscaping, document management, medical transcription, and staffing services.
2.Work with technical/operational staff to develop a strong understanding of customer needs, adjust business development and sales strategies, and develop sales collaterals and presentations
3.Provide Input to and execute sales strategies.
4.Monitor Prime Vendor, Federal bid boards and other procurement management solutions to identify open bids opportunities
5.Research and identify prospective customers from directories, networking, cold calling, e-mailing, and other sources.
6.Meet prospective customers by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network and attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
7.Assess business customer needs, identify pains, and bring back opportunities for evaluation with operation team
8.Oversee complete sales process from setting sales targets to managing inbound leads, prospecting, and working with operation on solution design, negotiation and contract signature.
9.Prospect for potential new clients to establish rapport, set-up meetings, and turn opportunities into increased business
10.Educate potential customer on the Goodwill mission and services
11.Assist in the development of quotes and proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
12.Participate in pricing the solution/services proposed to prospective customers
13.Handle objections, persuade or negotiate appropriately up to contract signature
14.Maintain fruitful relationships with existing clients with the objective to sell other Goodwill services
15.Keep CRM system updated with complete contact information, prospecting activity, etc.
16.Ensure all metrics including: prospecting activity, leads generation, proposal submitted, sales revenue, and customer satisfaction are monitored and maintained on a regular basis.
17.Review industry trends and information and help ensure Goodwill services remain relevant to market needs
18.Solicit customer feedback, referral, and lead strategic account development efforts



JOB REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; Master’s degree a plus.
* 3 - 5 years’ proven experience in business, sales or marketing; experience developing business/contract opportunities with federal/state/local procurement programs (AbilityOne, GSA Schedule, State-Use Program, etc.)
* Sales and Marketing experience in one of the following industries a plus: electronics recycling, landscaping services, document management, medical transcription, and staffing services.
* Strong interpersonal and community engagement skills, with proven record of developing and sustaining productive community and business relationships
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively collaborate with multiple constituencies to achieve mission goals
